Company Overview
Source Renewables LLC is a clean energy development company focused on the development of Solar PV, Energy Storage, and Hybrid Solar/Storage projects in the Americas.
Source Renewables was formed by Source Structured Finance and ABA Clean Energy as a means to merge two energy development companies and provide a stronger unified value proposition to asset managers, customers, and the project development community.
The Source Renewables team has deep experience in the energy and project finance markets, having developed and built more than 60MW’s of distributed Solar and Energy Storage. In addition to its already executed projects Source Renewables has a pipeline of over 300MW in various stages of development in the US.

Todd Coffin
Partner
Todd Coffin is an experienced investment banker specializing in corporate and project finance and capital formation in the renewable energy industry. Prior to Source Renewables he led Source Capital Group’s investment banking department beginning in 2003. Previously, Todd was a founding partner at Hudson Allen and Company. While at Hudson Allen, he also served as CEO of Sonus Communications. Prior to Hudson Allen, Todd was with Alex Brown & Sons, and started his career at Smith Barney Harris Upham. Todd was a founding Board Member and financed Greenbacker Capital Corp., a registered public non-traded GP of Greenbacker Renewable Energy Corp. He holds a BA from Boston University.
Nicholas Whitcombe
Managing Director
Nicholas Whitcombe has nearly 30 years of experience sourcing and structuring corporate and project finance transactions in the energy sector. Prior to joining Source Renewables, Nick led the financing of 50 transactions totaling more than $900 million in a diverse portfolio of investments in residential, C&I and community solar, wind, energy efficiency, and corporate financings at New York Green Bank, a state-sponsored investment fund. In New York State, Nick spearheaded a focus on community solar, resulting in the financing of over 300 MW of community solar projects.
Prior to New York Green Bank, Nick was a federal officer responsible for the U.S. Department of Energy loan guarantees for nuclear enrichment and generation, wind and solar generation, and automotive manufacturing projects. Nick has also worked in a variety of roles at Jefferies, CIT, Fleet, and NatWest, including energy derivatives and loan syndications, origination, and restructuring. Nick earned a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
Jeff Lines
VP Business Development
Jeff has been adding value to C&I customers and utilities through the management of electricity for the last 16 years. He cofounded two demand response companies since 2005 and led the first major demand response program in Southeast Asia. Since 2013, he has developed expertise in the development and sales of battery energy storage systems.
Prior to his work in the energy sector, he led global businesses in the Chemicals and Polymer Industry and from 1998 to 2004 was President and General Manager of a specialty polymers business owned by DESC S.A. de C.V., a Mexican conglomerate.
Jeff holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and an MS degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Peter Turner
VP Marketing and Business Development
Peter Turner has a background in entrepreneurial projects having raised capital and managed the US division for one of the first smart water meter companies in the world based out of Spain. Peter eventually negotiated the sale of the company to a publicly-traded multi-national company. Additional entrepreneurial projects included the development of ergonomic medical equipment and home products. He also managed a multi-country project for Microsoft Labs as part of a European IT Firm. Most recently, Peter worked for NRI in Miami working on $500mm of mixed-used developments. Peter joins the Source Renewables team to focus on business development and strategic alliances. Peter has an MBA from Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain, and graduated from Boston University and is bi-lingual in English/Spanish.
